*** I GUESS HE GAVE THE ALLEGRA TO DRY THE STUFF IN MY EARS SO THAT MY EAR DRUM COULD HEAL???
SALLI58 replied: "Allegra won't loosen the congestion. It is an antihistamine & it will dry things up. See an ENT, and stop taking the Allegra."
What do you think of the "Allegra" poem? Even the hollow reed voices across sand, dry plains,
Startling lilt, notes we can remember.
We can forget. Forgetting is our salvation,
Not reincarnation.
When memory is destroyed, we are spared
Thorns, destiny.
No further life.
Peace be with you.
With you, Father.
For each the choice, known, unknown, of what the
Heart can render. Rending forever, keeping us
Worn, sworn to earth, dust.
Do not erect stones for me, they would keep me
Company. I did not have companionship in
Life, why plague the stones at sunset?
Cover me with thorns, as in life, one reed,
One drum. I clutch music of death,
No salvation, yet reincarnation.
You are in peace. Let me.
Remember me.
Remember.
Who would leave their bed of winter's night
To light dark's ice with wax candle?
Not you, priest...
Bound by law to the body, not soul's grief
Or expansion.
Bound to limit the soul in one direction.
Denial of reed and drum leads voices,
In canto, to ceilings.
Captured. Tonal.
Never twice on key.
For each a choice...thorn, dulled thorn.
Thorn nonetheless.
Vine. Rose.
What redemption after salvation?
Can salvation be redeemed?
Must it, should it, by who's hand...
Long the vine, short the rose.
Together...vining rose of headstones
Rendering hollowness in winter's
Dark ice.
For you who remember...
A candle.
Sent to a press in England this morning.
England is a wonderful place to publish...
Neon....oh yeah they were, indeed composed at the bridge....in the blasted morning, before those boats started running....peaceful, quiet...
If I'm not mistaken...Allegra is a musical direction....also the name of the pretty lady in Hannibal.
neonman replied: "Two heavy duty poems in a day! Doubt they were composed on 24 hour shifts! lol I googled 'allegra' and got a page full of sites on the drug not Lord Byron's illegitimate daughter who died young! So much for history versus modern day marketing. Reincarnation, salvation, remembering, forgetting leading to choice. This will be on my list to read again. Congrats on getting it published."
Mixtli replied: ""Long the vine, short the rose."
I'm keeping that."
Nikki~ replied: "Wow is this ever good.
Did the Rooster bonk you on the head or something.?
vine...ice...candle
Maybe you got into the liquid corn.
This is really really good."
Mr. Tater Salad replied: "Well done!"
Intrusivosity With Medium Doubt replied: "Allegra means happy, (up-beat). In music the opposite would be "lento".
I prefer "clinging" as opposed to "vining", but I also prefer Fresca over Dr. Pepper, so what the H do I really know?"
octogen replied: "That poem exactly describes my 88 years of tormented life; and still it goes on and on seemingly without end. A mixture of torment and contentment. Inexplicable that one can have such a mixture, but it is so true. Somewhere in it there was happiness as well. Then tragedy. Do i have to be reincarnated to start all over again???"
Dave replied: "AWESOME!"
Kate Alex Bahleef replied: "Can salvation be bought. No it can not. It is a gift crowned with thorns.
Reincarnation to a living death of slavery."

SURFERGIRL....here's the poem you asked for.
No, ya'll don't understand......surfergirl made this comment on one of my pomes this morning....'Where's the poetry?'
THIS is my reply to her....apparently she thinks I'm ALL silliness.....
Naked Snidely replied: "WOW!!!!
This is good Blondie!!!
Guess the humour helps.
I was just gettin to likin teasin Hydro......
Now let's see how creative he will be..
..in retaliation....
He he he he"
hydropro replied: "Oh SLAP,,,it's poetry again"
Ice replied: "Comparing two poets is like apples and oranges.
I really like Apples.
I really like Oranges.
Because they're not the same thing."
AMY G replied: "This is superb, the kind of quality of poetry that I have come to expect from you, yet which still leaves me enchanted. I have read it over and over and cannot get enough. Thank you."
Tater Salad replied: "Even when you don't see me, I am there."
Maltese Breeder replied: "This could also be up there with the nobel prize winner! I like the variety that you can do!I think most of us, are just really feeling blessed having you here each morning with the "Yalles 'and
Snidley poetry to start our days, we look forward to it!
This is very beautiful, serious stuff, nice job Elys!
Cheers!"
dark bubble replied: "You gotta stop this. I laugh, I cry, you make me have to think. I'm just a simple kitty trying to get a belly rub, and you're always messing with my mind and emotions. And I cant even read or type.
Good job."
What think you of Part 3 ish of Allegra? Leave the reed hollow. Do not allow
Drum rivers in the sand.
Destroy ceilings.
Set voices free.
Does the heart leave its warm bed to
Heat another's chill.
Can it. Would it. Should it
Choose.
Thorns twine the heart, slowing,
Constricting, stopping.
Once.
To leave its warm nest, unable
To void another's ice.
Death twice.
For each...choices. Salvation or
Redemption.
Forgetting or remembering.
Memory or reincarnation.
Peace be with you.
With you, Father.
Who tends, trims the vining rose,
What water from cracked reed
Reaches roots in dust.
Who judges the hand's action.
Vine a monolith only twice. Send one
Wickless candle...and
On my heart
Lay ice.
All parts are here to be found...Parts 1-4.
Uh, I say 'ish' because I may edit or put some things deleted, back in.(dangling participle....) heheheheheheheeeeeee
Allegra may mean 'sweet' or 'beautiful'...I remember some such word from choir days.
Allegra's theme is ultimate resurrection...so sweet or beautiful would not be out of line.
Elaine P replied: "Oh! Now there is not even a candle to light the way, for the candle is wickless. What a cold, lonely way to die! If one is reincarnated without memory, isn't that a different person? We are our memories. What would we be with total amnesia?"
neonman replied: "A great read by a very gifted poet. My compliments. I had to back track and reread. Still not quite sure of everything but the themes of salvation versus reincarnation run through your words and images. A lot to discover not only in meaning but in structure of lines and words. I think I will go back now and write some more twinkle twinkle types! lol"
cynthia s replied: "Poets, like all artists, are immortal. I have even heard it suggested that when a powerful piece of writing is created, so is another universe. Write on!
I really appreciate your use of language."
AMY G replied: "The choice one exists on is, of course, only the option of what to believe, not the ultimate and unknowable truth. "Who judges the hand's action" is a marvelous line. The whole poem is very thought-provoking and inspiring. You have such incredible talent, and I always look forward to reading every one of your poems, even if I am too speechless to comment on each one. Thank you."
Todd replied: "I think I'm going to have to print all 4 parts out and read them together once you've posted the fourth. I feel like there are connections I'm missing this way.
I like how this is progressing."
ANDREW M replied: "I like it...........However it seems very cold way to die
Being re-born & not remembering Who are we ??"
hip lady replied: "you are totally remarkable."
Coop 366 replied: "I like it but it seems to be about lost or a difficult love. For I have felt the heart fill with ice at the end of love."
Grannyjill replied: "I'm with Todd on this...I must put them all to-gether (even tho' a work in progress) and see where the poem leads me.
In this piece I'm seeing some-one who gave their love/heart to another only for it to be rejected - experiencing death of the soul before physical death.....I need to look deeper into the vine/monolith references."
What think you of Part 4 of 'Allegra'? Send the priest who tends his own soul...
Not the vine, not the rose.
Priests are not gardeners.
Let the chaliced one be pregnant with memories
Of dry plains, thorns,
Rosebuds that opened in Hell...
Surrounding demons with a moment of scent. Earth.
Send the demon who died with
A rose in his hand.
I hold the lilt of memories, redeeming by being.
No stones. Cover me with Hell's roses,
Thorns, reed, and drum.
Then let me leave my bed...do it all again.
Laughing with Shiva.
Dancing with the Dead.
I found 'Allegra' after two years of looking for it...today.
Pays to clean house now and then!!!
Reenie! No need to be scared of the imagery. Would you believe this has a ressurrection theme?
Oscar...naw, just posted this one part. Didn't think it would go over too well. I'm just happy I found it! Now, I can submit the dang thing somewhere!
Siren Sanguine Affection replied: "It has such deep meaning... I will have to read them all more then once to fully know and even then, no one ever fully knows!"
Reenie: Mom of Marine replied: "Of course it's beautifully written, but you already know that!
I'm scared of the imagery here.
I added an edit to my answer to your question about best answers earlier. Is that what you meant?"
oscarsix5 replied: "Really quite engrossing! Have you posted parts 1, 2 and 3 recently or have I missed them completely???"
pat replied: "I think repitition is life's strongest drive , some say sex and yes we like to do that again and again too. but.. Evolution has proved that everything will be repeated, relived. We breathe and breathe and breathe. ...so again you did it. wrote a solution to the question why we are here. ...to do it again!"
sean.thurston replied: "dear elyslund:
i like reading your poetry...
when i first read it... i read Algebra...
just goes to show what being a math teacher of 18 years will do to you... we tend to see that which we are sometimes.
best wishes and warm regards... always!"
Dondi replied: "I would very much like to read the entire work, it looks intriguing."
neonman replied: "Nice that you included footnotes! lol Doesn't sound like the Priest is doing much since he believes in damnation and not reincarnation. Shiva, siva, the dictionary had to help me there. Dancing with the Dead...about to be reborn, naw...I best not go to "Dead Man Walking"! lol An intriguing write and one that makes one think, which I think is not a bad thing!"
AMY G replied: "This is uncanny, beautiful and enigmatic- it makes me wonder and ponder. It brings to mind reincarnation, rebirth, as well as death. It seems that every single word is carefully chosen to have the most impact. This hard work as well as the indisputable gift that you possess have combined to create an outstanding poem that I will remember. Thank you."
Elaine P replied: "Many cultures do not see the dead as "scary." The Russian Orthodox monks in Upstate NY have a beautiful cemetery and they use it as a place of contemplation. There is one magnificent line in this poem that I read over and over and it continues to be fresh: "I hold the lilt of memories.." This poem contains song, laughter, dance and so by implication joy. There is no reason to be frightened. We westerners are so monotheistic, we forget or are ignorant of other cultural icons."
gale s replied: "Boy, did you ever make me think,
My poetry definitely now will stink.
Beside the works of one so gifted
With this poem my spirits weren't lifted.
Or maybe they should be, I'll re-read it again
You are the lady of the gifted pen."
isobelmyself replied: "Another one to add to my favorites. It inspires a great picture in my mind."
lisa p replied: "its soo meningful and wonderful im very glad you posted this..."
remoserjr107 replied: "Very Nice...!!
Have a Nice Day...!!"
Grannyjill replied: "What can I say? - my words are inadequate to do this justice.
This is Poetry - will that suffice?"
♥♥♥RaeRae♥♥♥ replied: "Publish it...!
I will be buying copies..........!
..~♥*RaeRae*♥~.."

Elaine P replied: "Superb! And, "why plague the stones at sunset" -- incredible. I loved Part 4. Now to Parts two and three.."
TD Euwaite™ replied: "Yep, she's on a roll...I better find my glasses. I thought it said, ..."we are spayed."
OUCH!"
remoserjr107 replied: "Very Inspiring...!!"
neonman replied: "A short life destroyed with love never present. Reincarnation reference is interesting? Next part?"
Mohanbir Singh replied: "When memory is destroyed, we are spared
Thorns, destiny
No further life
And then,
Cover me with thorns,as in life, one reed,
One drum. I clutch music of death,
No salvation, yet reincarnation.
Very thought provoking."
jenny replied: "Intriguing, soul searching, and twisting! Kudos."
ANDREW M replied: "WoW ,,,That's "Berry Berry" Good ..........Your "Trolling" right along this morn'n !!!"
AMY G replied: "This is so eloquent and provocative, I am stunned. This poem speaks of those questions that everyone must ask themselves. Very intense imagery created with your knowledgable and beautiful words. Thank you."
Todd replied: "I really like the internal rhyme and the creative near repetition of words and ideas throughout. My favorite parts are the last three lines of both strophes--they have a sacred sense to them.
The only bump I had reading was I kept wanting to add a "the" before "music of death".
I look forward to reading the other parts."
Grannyjill replied: "Are you posting these out of sequence, or am I just reading them that way? Ho hum...let's push on. Showing my ignorance (once again) - what does Allegra mean? The dictionary has Allegro, a musical term..but no Allegra.
I have declaimed this to my four walls, it sounded grand. Again, I'm unsure of the meaning throughout, but as I have said before 'meaning isn't everything' - the juxtaposition of words provides music to my ears."
Coop 366 replied: "I thank you again, I send you to three for my review."
Why do I hear crackling now? Had "fluid behind the ear drum" and my ENT prescribed Allegra-D for 1 month course. I am 2 weeks into it. Fluid seems like it's cleared up, but I have constant tinnitus, and also I hear crackling everytime I swallow. Is this a sign of things getting better or worse?
I was not *yet* been officially diagnosed with tinnitus, but the ringing has been constant for the past 2-3 weeks or so. I can just tell it's not going to ever go away. But I am more concerned with knowing if the crackling is good or bad sign.
♥*´`*ღ..Pink Fluff ♥*´`*•.¸¸ replied: "Probably just a side effect, definatly ask the doctor, but I am sure nothing to worry about."
Me 6 replied: "My ears have been crackling for MONTHS!!!! My doctor say it from post nasal drip. As your doctor for a medicine that is designed to attack that and hopefully it will stop. It's that or a large round of antibotics for you. I can't take them cause it will mess up my stomach too much so I have to suffer."
xwin32x replied: "Where you diagnosed with Titinus? This kind of stuff happens mostly to those patients.
This can be due to a squeezed vein in your ear- Allegra-D does this to a lot of patients- which caused your ear to hear pulsing noises. When you walk around or exercise, the crackling reduces/disappears and when you lay still it starts. Try a Theraputic Massage.. It has helped a lot of patients."
Help me dry this up? :(? I have a problem with fluid behind my ear drum and the doctor that I go to seen the fluid and he put me on Maxifed G for 10 days and that did not dry the fluid up. I also have been put on Allegra 80 mg and that didn't help ether. When I was 6 years old I had to get ear tubes put in to drain fluid in my ear for 6 months. I haven't had no problems since then, until few months ago and I am 18 years old now. I was wondering is there medicine out there that would probably dry this fluid up? I was told this is what makes me very dizzy/light headed, someone plz help.
I think they are retired now, the docs that did it when I was younger.
caffsans replied: "have you told this Dr that you had tubes in your ears when younger =he/she may be able to do something different that will take the fluid away=good luck"
Erin W replied: "DOCTOR.
Y! Answers will not solve this problem for you. Please go to your physician. Your doctor should do anything to solve the problem - THAT'S THEIR JOB."
fluid behind the ears ? help? i went to the doctor like 5 days ago because my ears always feel clogged and they always pop when i swallow and because my ear drum was starting to hurt. when i got there thay said it was fluid from sinuses (spell ?) and gave me allegra D and told me to take sudefed (spell ?) but its not working my ears still hurt and there still clogged . if there is fluid behind the ear can it cause you to go deaf? anyone know how to get rid of it?
mbpisano replied: "the allegra d, has a decongestant which should do the trick, however, if the fluid stays there for to long it can become infected, i would suggest that you see a ear nose and throat dr,, they will stear you in the right direction,, best of luck"
envader343 replied: "Had that happen after a bad flu. The way to "unclog" the fluid is to drink lots and lots and lots of water. Keep alot of fluid in your system and it will clear up on its own. When you have to cough up phlem or blow nose always do so, to help get rid of all the garage in the system. After a while (2-4 days) you'll feel better (atleast I did in that time)
Hope this helps.. it did for me."

AMY G replied: "There is so much depth, so much to contemplate in this poem. I feel like I get more and more out of it each time I read it. But from the very first reading the words were so intelligent and hauntingly beautiful that I fell in love with the poem."
poopsie replied: "wow, did you make up this poem, I found it to be very comforting, I for one am not afraid of death, when its my time I will go, that will of course be up to god. I thought the poem had depth, but in another way comforting!!! really, for some reason, it made me feel good about alot of thing we take for granted, If you indeed wrote this, you should have it published, show it to a teacher in eng. lit. thanks!!!!"
bill g replied: "Very nice and well thought out."
pootfart3 replied: "That was just so beautiful to be about something as dismal as death. However, would you mind if I had something like that written on my headstone? No? Then so be it........."
